Students at the Laketown Campus do not need to register their laptops or other wireless devices. You may connect to the csh_laketown_guest wireless network. No password is needed to connect to that network.
Ground Rules
Students may use their own personal laptops and other wireless devices at the Laketown Campus. Please keep the following ground rules in mind:
Using the school's network and Internet connection is a privilege... this privilege may be denied at the school's discretion without warning.
Do not use the school's Internet connection for any unlawful or prohibited activity.
You are expected to abide by the CSH Technology Agreement when using your personal device on school property (e.g. either campus, chapel, etc).
The school filters, monitors and records all Internet access.
You are personally responsible for Internet access done with your laptop/wireless device. Even if someone else used it.
Any teacher or school staff member has the right to question your use of your laptop, including asking you to turn it off or put it away at their discretion.
The school is not responsible for any damage or loss of data that may occur to your laptop through your use of the school's network or as a result of its presence on school property.
If your laptop runs Windows, it MUST be running up-to-date antivirus software. If you're not sure whether it is, please contact Mr. David Whitmer (david.whitmer@cshk12.org).
Web Filtering
Your laptop's Internet activity (web browser use) will be monitored when you use the school's Internet connection.
If your laptop/wireless device is used for any unlawful activity or to access inappropriate web sites, you will be held personally responsible, even if you had allowed someone else to use it. In other words, think twice before letting others use your laptop, as you will be held responsible for what they do with it.
